Review: Bill Paxton has followed The Hidden Adventures of Sherlock Holmes with a second volume unsurprisingly called The Hidden Adventures of Sherlock Holmes II. The Watson style is deceptively difficult to capture, and Mr Paxton has not, I think, really managed it, but his wide-ranging historical knowledge and his affection for Conan Doyle’s great creation are very evident. The book contains two short stories and a novel, ‘The Stolen Treasure of the Knights of Malta’, whose narrative also includes the history of Islam. Like the first volume, this is a strongly bound and attractive hardback book.
