The Hidden Adventures of Sherlock Holmes IIType of material: Hardcover book Author: Bill Paxton Publisher: Omnibus Enterprises Ltd, 12907 East 36th Street Terrace, Independence, MO 64055, USA Year: 2002 Pages: Price: $25.00 plus postage Review: Bill Paxton has followed The Hidden Adventures of Sherlock Holmes with a second volume unsurprisingly called The Hidden Adventures of Sherlock Holmes II. The Watson style is deceptively difficult to capture, and Mr Paxton has not, I think, really managed it, but his wide-ranging historical knowledge and his affection for Conan Doyle’s great creation are very evident. The book contains two short stories and a novel, ‘The Stolen Treasure of the Knights of Malta’, whose narrative also includes the history of Islam. Like the first volume, this is a strongly bound and attractive hardback book. Reviewed by: Roger Johnson, [District Messenger 218, 2002]
